Update on "Zamboni Steve"

Over the weekend we all took notice as a 42 year old Zamboni driver was called into action as emergency goalie for the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes.  Yesterday, Zamboni Steve, whose real name is David Ayers stopped by the Today Show to share his experience.
Ayers is the father of three and the manager of a nearby rink.  He drives the Zamboni at the home of the Toronto Maple Leafs.  When the NHL designated a rule specifying all arenas have an emergency goalie available to each team Ayers gladly signed on truly believing he would never has to suit up.  That all change Saturday night when he call the call to not only suit up , but to play against his beloved home team protecting the net for the visiting Hurricanes. The rest is history, and a night the man who thought his hockey days had ended 15 years ago will never forget.  David's full Today Show interview is below.

What Intimidated Miranda?

Many people may not remember but in 2003 Miranda Lambert  made a splash  by competing on the first season of Nashville Star. Last week she shared that the show was very intimidating, and she actually failed her initial audition.
Taste Of Country Dot Com reports that Miranda gave an industry only interview as part of the 2020 Country Radio Seminar in Nashville last week.   She told the audience that when she first auditioned for the USA Network reality singing competition, her heart wasn't really in it, and she didn't get very far into the audition process.
Bev, her mom, was angry with Miranda for not putting her heart and soul into the audition. Bev had spent countless hours shuttling Lambert to auditions, and bookings. The notion that Miranda didn't showcase her true talents didn't sit well with mom.   Bev insisted that her daughter audition again in another city, and Lambert sang "Crazy" in her second audition, winning her way onto the show.

Mystery Woman Poses With A-Listers: Today's Small Town Scandal

A thrift store in Belgium received an unusual donated item: an album full of photos showing a mystery woman posing with celebrities. Employees were going through boxes of donated items when they found an album filled with pictures of a woman posing with celebrities including Keanu Reeves, Elijah Wood, Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise, William Shatner, Johnny Depp, Drew Barrymore and Bruce Willis. The store's policy is to destroy any personal photos found inside donation boxes, but in this case the uniqueness of the photos inspired the staff to attempt to identify the woman in the photos using social media. The woman in the photos has been identified as Maria Snoeys-Lagler. Snoeys-Lagler was former member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association who died in 2016 at the age of 87. The woman's daughter now has possession of the album and the one of a kind photos of her mother.

A New Feature: The Red Dirt Report- Maren Morris Wants a Gypsy Baby

I wanted to try something new today, The Red Dirt Report. The concept is simple. I take a seriously written country music story and add tabloid elements to it to make it sensational and ridiculous .  Darn it! Maren and Ryan are just too likeable though, so I figure my first time doing this on Kickin is not as tabloid-ish as I would have liked...

Maren Morris told NASH COUNTRY DAILY that she and husband Ryan Hurd are going to raise a  "Tour Bus Baby".
In a recent interview with Kix Brooks Maren said:
“I don’t want to take a year off,”..... “I don’t want to, like, be away from my fans for that long. I’m still, at my core, a workhorse, and I love performing. I love being onstage, and I love to sing, so my turnaround after I deliver is pretty short. It’s only two months and I have another gig, but mentally and emotionally—and I could change after I have my baby—but I think that it’ll be good for me to have an endpoint because if it’s just open-ended, I’m gonna be, like, [having] cabin fever, going stir-crazy in the house, like, taking care of this kid . . . It’s kind of nice to have a goal to be like, ‘Okay, I have two months,’ to not put pressure on myself but to get it back together, bring him on the road with me ’cause that’s gonna be the reality. He’s gonna be a tour bus baby, so it makes me feel like I can do motherhood and my career and not have to compartmentalize them.”
Maren and Ryan's baby boy is due to make his world premier debut in March, meanwhile mama Maren is scheduled to perform at the legendary Houston Rodeo in early March, just weeks from her due date.
